If you receive a raster image in MDI format, you may not be able to open it, depending on your Windows and Office versions. MDI (Microsoft Document Imaging) is a proprietary format of Microsoft, which can be opened only with MS Office programs, if they include the MODI module. A good alternative is to use MDI Converter.
